I have used both programs and I do prefer one program over the other for ease of use, functionality and faster SEO ranking.

Both of these programs are excellent but I do prefer using the PhPBay Pro.

An ARCU, is an “Active Confirmed Registered User.” This is someone that you refer via your site to eBay. They’re confirmed as active when they:

• Signup
• Confirm their Account via Email
• Either Places a bid or Buys via BIN within 30 days

ARCU’s are easy money, there are also plenty of niches out there that you can really leverage this form of eBay income rather than the Revenue Share.

The Revenue Share is the amount of money that you earn when someone buys an item. You earn a percentage of the total revenue eBay makes (not the sale price of the item). So naturally higher priced items will earn you more. I’m also pretty sure that Cars etc earn a flat fee, so don’t think there’s huge money in them.

So if you refer a new customer to eBay & they purchase something then you get the ARCU & the Revenue generated.

eBay’s cookies lasts for 7 days so you’ll also get revenue from any other items that the customer buys within that time period (Amazon only has a 24 hour cookie time, so this is a much better deal for Affiliates). I find that people quite often buy more than 1 item.

So the theory is simple, we’re going to create a site that drives people to eBay via the various products we’re promoting.

1. Installation: With both, there is the installation hurdle, since with BANS you have to set up a mySQL database on your server. I know how to do this with cPanel, but it seldom seems to work seemlessly with me. After some tinkering, I was able to get BANS installed. Best to use a host with cPanel, IMO. With PHPBay, you simply upload and activate the plugin, but you have sime further steps to follow unlike some plugins. Nothing difficult, however.

2. Setup: With BANS, there was a steeper learning curve for me, since I have some solid familiarity with WordPress. With WP I already had a site up and running, so it was easier simply to plug everything into the theme. With BANS, while they will tell you it's really simple, if you want to get a better looking site than the generic template, and get the navigation right, you'll have some work to do.

3. The Biggest Differences: Speaking from my POV, the biggest difference between them is that with BANS you can't mask the eBay links and images so that you get a site that shows up as being saturated with eBay affiliate links and images. But, you can configure PHPBay to do the masking. I feel this is an important distinction, since your generic BANS site could be seen by Google as carrying a "thin affiliate site" footprint and tanked in rankings. Personally, the similar layout with the BANS template doesn't bother me, as I don't think Google pays a lot of attention to that.

In BANS' defense, you can pay on a per site basis to have your links masked ($30) and they are offering additional templates for a price. I don't know if this masks images as well.

Also, BANS has a forum and PHPBay does not, except there is good support, and much info about it available here at DP. Just do a search for "phpBay plugin".

Lastly, with BANS, there is a little more work involved to set up each store on your site, especially if you want to add some written content to each page which certainly should be done. You should do that with your PHPBay pages, as well, but with WP, it's somewhat simpler.

What Data feeds (xml feeds) allow you to keep your pages up to date with current offers and price information from the advertiser that you are an affiliate for.

this can be done using different approaches including but not restricted to , some of them are:

1. Create a dynamic page in ASP or PHP or .Net that reads the data feed as a database and creates a page based on the data in the datafeed.

2. Use a program or website such as goldencan.com to generate a page from the datafeed.

3. Use AJAX (which rocks but takes considerable programming skill) to read and display the products in the datafeed.

I have been reading a lot about Azoogle where it's possible to make $1000/day . I have applied for Azoogle and waiting for approval .


I definitely want to try Azoogle and want to see if i can maximize my daily earning.

ModernClick
Keith Baxter's ModernClick affiliate network, launched in 2006, offers a wide range of products to promote in dozens of different categories. Tracking is by DirectTrack. It has pay per lead, pay per sale and some pay per click offers. You don't have to own a website when you apply.

Panthera Network
Panthera Network makes very bold claims. It says it is the "best affiliate network in the world". It guarantees the "top payout" for any offer advertised. Even better, if you see a higher payout on any other affiliate network, Panthera Network offers to beat the listed payout by 5%. You can choose from over 100 offers to promote. Consolidated commission checks are paid monthly on a net 15 basis for leads generated in the previous month. Has mainly pay per lead programs. Tracking is by DirectTrack. Worth keeping an eye on.

AvantLink
AvantLink, launched late in 2005, is a parasite-free, innovative affiliate network " developed by and for affiliate marketing professionals". It which offers merchants three datafeed options. It provides sophisticated tools for merchants. It provides dozens of offers for affiliates. Worth watching.

TrafficSynergy
A new affiliate network with a great attitude. The people running it have impressive marketing experience. This network is worth keeping an eye on.

ShareResults
Another new affiliate network, promising affiliates and merchants reliable tracking and reporting. "A simple user interface enables affiliate marketers to easily maximize results. Our dedicated affiliate team provides responsive, personalized support to build profitable affiliate relationships," ShareResults says. Some merchants have been signed up and should appear on the site soon. Worth keeping an eye on.

LinkConnector
LinkConnector offers pay per click, pay per lead and pay per sale programs.

MaxBounty
A cost-per-action network launched in 2004 by JP Sauve, who as an affiliate and merchant was disgruntled by the small payouts made to affiliates by the networks. MaxBounty promises "the highest CPAs in the market". It accepts affiliates from all countries, and pays affiliates in their local currency from local banks, to avoid large check fees. Payments are consolidated into one check. It has added Sub-ID tracking so that affiliates can track which of their surfers signed up for what offer. This is popular with reward site affiliates. MaxBounty allows merchants to run their own affiliate program in an open marketplace format described as similar to that of the big three networks, only at a much more affordable price. Worth keeping an eye on.

Remember, there’s always going to be one particular niche that you know 10x better than anyone else. It could be Pianos, Golf Equipment or Trading Cards for a particular game. Use your knowledge in that realm to build a site so you can get a feel for the whole process.

You can see my results for last month with this site, almost no new ARCU’s which is a little disappointing. But then again there’s certain niches that perform better for signups (think impulse purchases, music equipment really isn’t an impulse purchase).

It’s not vital that you have all of the above, but that’s exactly what I’m using. There are other free creative ways to come up with niches if you read some of my earlier posts. An expired domain isn’t necessary, however you will get quicker results. If you’re a bit on the lazier side & don’t want to worry about the whole Wordpress setup that i’m showing you then you can check out BANS (Build a Niche Store), it does something similar, quicker. But it’s less customisable (and costs $97).

What advantage does my technique have over BANS? well for a start each product has it’s own unique page, whereas bans works more on categories. We’re also forking out $58 less (which you can use for hosting).

Getting Started

Firstly you’ll need to install Wordpress on the domain name you’ve picked. If you’ve chosen Hostican they’ll give you your first domain free, they also have Fantistico which allows for an easy 1 click install of Wordpress. If not, you’re on your own with the installation I’m afraid.

Plugins you’ll need (these are all uploaded to the wp-content/plugins/ folder):

PhpBay Pro (commercial): This plugin is the brains of the whole site, it pulls products from the eBay Category RSS feed & parses them onto your page within Wordpress. It’s updated constantly so the page content is always fresh. You can choose products by name, category & you can also set negative keywords to filter out.

SEO Title Tag (free): This plugin allows us to set unique page titles for each post that we make.

Top Level Categories (free): This awesome plugin removes the annoying /category/ part from the Wordpress permalinks.

Sort Categories by Title (free): Wordpress normally sorts things in categories by Date, this allows you to sort everything alphabetically which works much better for a shop type layout.

Different Posts per Page (free): You can set the number of posts to display per page with this plugin, I normally set it at around 25-50 on the homepage & set it at unlimited for categories (that way your products are never further than 2 levels from the homepage).

Recent Posts (free): This plugin allows you to list your most recently added products.

Here is one more example where i have noticed circuit city ads running on my site in hybrid mode from widgetbucks. I guess more earning on my way ... soon ..

Submitting your site links to digg can boost little traffic on your site. Recently i started submitting my site links on digg and i am noticing on an average 6-10 more visitors coming to my site from digg.

I am running widgetbucks hybrid ads on my site and i am really impressed with PPC on hybrid ads.Widget bucks runs doubleclick,tribalfusion and several other graphical ads in hybrid mode. I am getting on an average 45cents to 66 cents per click .


Yes widgetbucks is really working great ...

Kontera is not that great but still i am making $5/month from my site. I am getting on an average 1000 visitors/day on my site and on an average Kontera earning is $5/pm so even if i managet to get 5000 visitors/day my kontera earning will still be small compared to Yahoo Publisher earning.
