Missing puzzle in Thesis them

So i bought the Thesis theme after hearing lot of hype.I am going to talk straight about Thesis theme, for SEO and web developers it is a great theme, but if you don't have coding experience then it wouldn't be much good for your from design/customization perspective. If you are not like me you can still use Thesis theme , but if you are some one like me you cares for look , attractive design then you have to hire some web developer to customize your wordpress blog. If you just care for SEO but not about design then i would give 10/10 to Thesis theme , go head you can buy it and rest assured you will get free Organic traffic without spending any money on traffic work.

I don't have money to give it out to developer so i am learning myself how to customize Thesis Theme. Let's talk about how to add logo in Thesis theme header.

one Thing that really helped me is that now i don't have to get to shell access for changing Thesis customization code. In thesis 1.6 you can change code in theme right from wordpress admin page. There are only two files to look into which resides under thesis\custom folder

custom.css
custom_functions.php

You are with me so far , that does sounds real easy ..at least it does to me.

1. Go to Wordpress admin page and click and under Thesis options ., select Custom File Editor

2.Next open custom_functions.php and add this line under php code

3.Next add the code just below the first code in custom_functions.php file

GoldenCan: GoldenCAN is a datafeed integration service. They get the datafeeds, parse them, remove the garbage, and give you some copy and paste code to add little shops to your blog for merchant products. It’s free, costs no money, and is paid for by taking every “4th” click generated from your site. There are, however, 75 or so merchants that have paid to make their feed completely free (and you get all the clicks). Great little service for being free - not enough (in my opinion) to build a fully featured affiliate store.

PopShops: I only got interested in PopShops because I found out they had a Blogger, Typepad, and Wordpress Widget. Their basic account is free, and the “Pro” version with SEO friendly URL’s is only $5 per month. With the widget, when you blog in Wordpress using the visual editor, you can popup a window that allows you to search for products, and the results that come back are from all the merchant’s datafeeds they have in their database (some 20 million products). I liked their service (and still use it), but the only cons for me were the fact that you can only look up and add one product at a time, and you had to be very careful that you were signed up for the merchant the product came from (or no commissions for you!).

WebMerge: WebMerge is downloadable software that you install on your computer to parse a merchant affiliate datafeed file and created static web pages from it. It’s $99 for a single user license. I’m sure it can do what it says, but I’ve been building web sites for 13 years and I found it hard to use, hard to setup, and the static pages I created were pretty piss poor, even after creating a “template”.

My Datafeed Scripts: This site sells scripts that parse ShareASale datafeeds (only). I’m sure they work fine, but I wouldn’t pay a hundred bucks for scripts that only work for ShareASale merchants.

Feedshare: Feedshare seems to have a great service, with the ability to build mini-shops as well. You can also setup products and shops using both JavaScript and PHP. The drawback seems to be they only have 45 merchants listed, and the only one who I even knew was Overstock.com. This service appears to be free, so there’s your “pro”.

AffiliStore: When I found Affilistore I really thought I had the holy grail. This free downloadable script sets up an affiliate store that sucks up datafeed files and creates products, categories, and pages including seo titles and descriptions. The sample stores look great, but I found the script provided very mixed results depending on your datafeed format. In the end, it was too much work, categories weren’t working right, some links were breaking, and it was just taking completely too much time for what it was worth. It basically would have been a BANS like niche store, but with affiliate links from a datafeed. I’m glad this never worked out (for me), now that google is attacking “thin affiliate” sites anyway. You’re welcome to try it out, but be warned - “your mileage may vary…

Success story - How to make $400 without spending a dime

Those who have been reading articles on my digitalhat blog will be happy to know that after almost a year of starting project $0 down i am able to hit the $400 per month earning goal.I know that $400 per month is not a huge amount but atleast i am able to get to use some of the earned money to launch serveral other projects to make more make money online.

Earlier this year i started this project on how to earn money online with project $0 down.I didn't want to spend a dime from my pocket on experimenting some thing which i wouldn't sure if is is going to work or not . There are tons of e-books available online on How to make money online , i purchased some ebooks on How to earn money online using wordpress,blogs,CJ etc .etc last year but they failed to work for me. After losing some money from my pocket i decided if some how i can experiment and earn some money that would be a nice start.

Here is how i was able to reach my $400 earning goal using project $0 down :

1.Start your own blog

Last Christmas holiday i started working on 2 blogs - digitalhat and second blog on technology related articles which i am not going to disclose becuase my technology blog is competting with several other comepitiors with daily average of 1500 -2000 visitors.

I used blogger because i have used blogger blog earlier and i know you can get your new blog indexed in google within 48 hours. You can also use free wordpress blog, both blogs are pretty good.Next make it a habit to blog at least twice a week.Remember more frequently you blog ,you will get spidered by google more quicker.

2. Sign up for PPC Programs - Project $0 down

Once you got your blog going signup for some PPC programs . I was banned by google earlier so i picked YPN and Widgetbucks.

using YPN and widgetbucks on my blog i was able to earn $50 in my first month with daily earning from YPN only reaching upto max $5/day sometimes .My First 10 day earning from YPN was too low ($5.68) - don't foget this is for a beginner stepped into online PPC earning market.By end of month my daily traffic reached to 100 to 200 users per day just by plain Google Organic referrals.I wasn't satisfied with my earning from YPN so i applied to widgetbucks which gave me $25 signup bonus money.Slowly i realized my earning increased from Widgetbucks becuase i noticed one day that widgetbucks runs hybrid ads using tribalfusion and doubleclicks - i was earning $2 to $3 from widgetbucks.

i have found the solution.

install and activate theme
go to wordpress admin panel under DESIGN.
select PREMIUM NEWS OPTIONS.
you must go down the line and just enable or fill in those options. at least some or most of them. i didnt change all the options only the ones that i thought were important, which will be the ones at the top (GENERAL SETTINGS + FRONT PAGE LAYOUT)

save.
if you look on your home page you will notice the error message is gone. you can now customieze other things as you wish.
